Policy Statement
This event is being organised by a local committee of musicians and jazz fans.Our aim is to promote jazz on the Isle of Wight. Members of the committee will not receive any financial reward. Inspected accounts will be made available on request.
The committee will cover the cost of the main venues and headline acts. This will be funded by sponsorship, ticket sales and other fund-raising activities.
Any subsequent profits will go towards funding future events.
We will encourage other performances during the period. However, we will not act as agents. It will be the responsibility of the performers and venues to negotiate between themselves.

Shanti Paul Jayasinha
Shanti lives and works in London in the jazz and world music fields. His professional career took off whilst attending the Guildhall School of Music and Drama when he was the featured soloist with Kenny Wheeler on the CD ‘Walk Softly’.He has played for such bands as Alex Wilson, Tim Garland, Monica Vasconcelos, Snowboy, Etheridge’s Zappatistas, the Brand New Heavies, Michael Garrick, Clare Foster and Merengada.
As well as performing live with the Grand Union Orchestra since 1987, Shanti has also worked with the likes of Bobby Watson, Ruben Gonzalas, Annie Whitehead, Mike Westbrook Orchestra, the London Jazz Orchestra to name but a few.
He has worked extensively in the Latin music scene that has seen him work with some of the most acclaimed artists in the world including Guillermo Rubalcaba and Frank Emilio Flynn.
During a period in New York Shanti played in a duo with Chocolate Armentero and was invited to join Orquesta Broadway on stage. As well as his work as a professional performer Shanti is also heavily involved in Educational work both with the Associated Board and the Grand Union Orchestra. His latest CD is entitled 'Round Trip' and can be found on Candid Records.
