Policy Statement
This event is being organised by a local committee of musicians and jazz fans.Our aim is to promote jazz on the Isle of Wight. Members of the committee will not receive any financial reward. Inspected accounts will be made available on request.
The committee will cover the cost of the main venues and headline acts. This will be funded by sponsorship, ticket sales and other fund-raising activities.
Any subsequent profits will go towards funding future events.
We will encourage other performances during the period. However, we will not act as agents. It will be the responsibility of the performers and venues to negotiate between themselves.

John Turville
John is an experienced composer as well as a trained classical and jazz pianist. He is one of the busiest and most versatile pianists in the UK.
As well as running and writing for his own trio and sextet, he is currently a member of Tim Garland's Lighthouse Trio, Guillermo Rozenthuler's folkloric quartet 'Rioplatenses', the Loop band 'Dog Soup', the big band 'Combustible Alarms' and the Koby Israelite group, with whom he toured the UK, Poland, Bulgaria, Portugal and Austria in 2008, as well as a number of tango projects. He co-established the E17 big band in 2009 and has written new work for the ensemble.
He has played at all major UK venues including Ronnie Scotts, the 606 Club, Pizza Express, the Bloomsbury Theatre, Bridgewater Hall, St Davids Hall Cardiff and the Sage Gateshead. John is also the pianist for many tango groups, including the Birmingham-based "El Ultimo Tango" and Transtango, a multimedia project featuring Tim Garland and Eduardo Vassello.
His trio won the album of the year category in the 2011 Parliamentary Awards and John was awarded 'Best Jazz Instrumentalist' in the 2010 London Jazz Awards. In 2009 he also won the PRS promoter's choice award and played a ten-date tour of the UK in January 2010 to support the release of their new album 'Midas'.
